El Burrito walk is a 7km route in total located in the lost hills, right next to the famous Cerro Chato, with a height of 600m above sea level gives us a panoramic view of the plains of northern Costa Rica, The Arenal Volcano is also appreciated from its southern side, its natural paths will guide you to enjoy the rainforest and the transition to cloudy, in addition fauna, monkeys, birds, small mammals, plant diversity, water springs and the goal: two beautiful waterfalls, El Burrito Waterfall that is approx.. 40 mts highand Horacio Waterfall.
Start your day as you hike across the 2 mile Arenal Hanging Bridges and see the jungle from high above the forest. Your naturalist guide will teach you about Costa Rican culture, history, while you experience what we like to call "nature therapy." Appreciate 15 different bridges, 6 are hanging.After, head to the Arenal Volcano 1968 Park. Hike thought the breath-taken lava flow for 1.5 hours to 2 hours. We’ll head through easy trails that skirt the base of the Arenal Volcano. You'll love our fresh, amazing meal in one of La Fortuna's secret hangout at El Salto waterfall park.Finish the day at the stunning La Fortuna Waterfall. The 225-ft La Fortuna Waterfall is one of the most-iconic and most-beautiful attractions near the Arenal Volcano. A visit to the base of this waterfall requires hiking down hundreds of well-built, stable stairs, going across a couple of hanging bridges to where you can actually relax in the soothing cool waters down below. And you will certainly work up an appetite on your way back up, so it's the perfect opportunity to join us at the Hunters and Gatherers all you can eat natural buffet right next another of the La Fortuna's stunning attractions: the El Salto Secret Swimming Hole! This is an informative guided tour, but take your time and enjoy your surroundings! This half-day activity takes about 3 hours in total and can be done in the morning or afternoon.
This tour is designed to share the main attractions of the La Fortuna region with those who have limited time in the area and want to make the most of it. There is no doubt that our volcano is a highlight in the region, so we start with 3.5 km (2 mi.) hike through trails of solidified volcanic lava and primary rainforest in El Silencio Reserve to reach the lookout, which is as close to the Arenal Volcano as you can safely reach. Around 11:30 a.m. we will move on to the second point of interest. The 70m (230ft) high La Fortuna Waterfall is a breathtaking place, where you can take a refreshing swim or just photograph this magical waterfall and its splendid surrounding. Around 1:00 p.m., we will enjoy a delicious lunch in a restaurant near La Fortuna. LNext, around 2:30 p.m., we will make our way to the Hanging Bridges to walk along a trail through the rainforest and across bridges high above the treetops, to observe plants and animals from a different perspective.
